Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BeatCanvas (“the Service”), available at beatcanvas.net, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BeatCanvas is a free web application that lets you create audio-reactive visual experiences synced to SoundCloud tracks. The Service includes a timeline-based editor, effect library, sharing features, collaboration tools, and optional YouTube integration.

3. Account Registration

You must sign in with a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. User Content

Ownership

You retain ownership of the visualization projects, effect configurations, and other content you create on BeatCanvas (“User Content”). We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

License to us

By creating or uploading User Content, you grant BeatCanvas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. For content you publish publicly, this includes displaying it on explore pages and in search results.

Remix and remixing

When you publish a project publicly, other users may remix it (create derivative works based on your project). Remixed projects credit the original creator. If you do not want your work to be remixed, keep your projects private.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Upload or create content that is hateful, harassing, defamatory, or obscene
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation

6. Audio Content and Third-Party Services

SoundCloud

BeatCanvas streams audio from SoundCloud. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the tracks you select. BeatCanvas does not host or redistribute audio files.

YouTube

If you use the YouTube share feature, you authorize BeatCanvas to upload videos to your YouTube channel on your behalf. Uploads are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. You are responsible for ensuring your uploads comply with YouTube's policies, including copyright rules.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including its design, code, logos, and documentation — is the property of BeatCanvas and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the BeatCanvas name, logo, or branding.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for any content created by users of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeatCanvas shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the site. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction where BeatCanvas operates.
